Robots, robots and “robots”

A sampling of what I call generic “robots”- usually with arms and legs. I make them in a variety of sizes – from waist high to just filling my palm.

Usually a robot starts with the feet – but sometimes the head leads the way. Hips can be a problem – how to connect the legs so the thing can stand on its own two (or more) feet.

Handful of Bots

The Swarm

The Swarm has its origin in a “miscellaneous stuff” bin at my favorite “art supply” store Austin Creative Reuse. I found out they were electric fence insulators – but to me they were little robot figures only needing some arms and accessories. First I bought a couple, then a handful, and finally I cleaned out the entire box and had over 100 of these little guys.
